How do I get a receipt?


Using the online web booking: Navigate to the Book Online section of our website Login or if you've not registered, now is the time to register. Click my Bookings From this page you can view all future & previous bookings and download any receipts. Using the mobile app: Navigate to the Bookings section of our passenger app, from here you can view all previous bookings and download a receipt. If you have previously registered via the app or web, you will be emailed booking confirmation as well as receipts for all journeys. Please note these sometimes find their way into your spam/junk box.




How do I make a booking?


We have 3 different options available for bookings:

How will I know my taxi is on the way?


Shortly before your journey starts, we will send you a text message with your drivers name, vehicle registration, make, model & colour - this ensures you're getting into a licensed taxi with a professionally licensed driver. Alternatively you can track your driver on our app or through our book online section.




I've lost something in one of your taxis, how do I get it back?


We make every effort to track down clients that lose property. After 24 hours, we will then hand it into the local police station located within Somerset West & Taunton Council building in Belvadere Road, Taunton.




Are your vehicles equipped to carry wheelchairs?


We have a range of taxis available. We have vehicles suitable to carry both electric & manual wheelchair users. We strongly advised that these types of bookings be booked in advance where possible. You can book these via app, phone or online.




Can I book a journey with multiple pick-ups/drop-offs?


You are able to book these types of journeys by calling 01823 248248 or booking online. We currently do not have this feature available on our app, but are working hard to have this option available.




Can I book my taxi in advance?


Yes, we welcome pre-booked journeys. You can book journeys via app, phone or web.




Do I need to tip my driver?


You are not required to tip drivers, however this is greatly appreciated. This can be done by cash or card at the end of your journey.




How do I cancel a booking?


You can cancel a booking within the app, online or by phone. Please do not be worried in contacting us to cancel a booking.




What is your waiting time policy?


Our Standard waiting times are set below: For non-airport journeys, we give a grace period of 5 minutes after your booked pick up time. Once in the 6th minute, the driver has the right to start the meter. At this point the waiting time is charged in accordance to Somerset West & Taunton Council tariff structure.




Why am I Charged a parking at certian Pick-ups?


Sometimes our drivers incur parking or drop-off/pick-up charges at airports for example. For this we pass this cost onto our customers.

Are all your drivers insured?


Yes, all our drivers are insured by Taunton Taxi Services fleet policy.




How do I leave feedback about a driver?


After every journey we send our customers an SMS with a link to leave feedback about the service. We do this to ensure we are getting feedback from all passengers.




How are your drivers licensed?


All of our drivers are hand-picked by us, we then get them to apply for a taxi & private hire license with Somerset West & Taunton Council. They are then required to pass a Medical Test, a DBS check (police & criminal background), a driving asessment & then a knowledge & suitbility test.




How do I become a driver?

Can I request a specific driver?


Yes, you can request a specific driver and we will do our very best to allocate them to your booking. However this isn't always possible.





Pricing

What is your minimum fare?


Our minimum fare between 0700-2200 Monday-Friday is £2.40.




How is your pricing Calculated?


Our pricing is set by Somerset West & Taunton Council. However, for longer distance trips we can provide a discounted rate based on mileage. Please call 01823 248248 if you need to get a fixed price for a journey.




I feel I may have been overcharged, what should I do?


We suggest that you contact us immdiately so we can investigate this. Please be aware every single licensing district in the country has different pricing when it comes to Hackney Carriage & Private Hire. Our pricing is set by Somerset West & Taunton Council.
